The nickel-titanium alloy super-elastic Blue-Ti wire has, as its main feature, a smoother and more homogenous surface when compared to any other nickel-titanium alloy wire, which allows reduction in the friction levels when making closing mechanics and, as a consequence, reduces the treatment time during this phase without compromising its super-elastic features, ideal during the alignment and leveling phase.
The advantage in relation to the stainless-steel alloy arch is that the Blue-Ti wire leads to excellent results in closing and simultaneous leveling/alignment, because its super-elastic capacity acts promoting dental alignment right at the beginning of treatment, while it is possible to begin the closing of dental spaces.
Another Blue-Ti wire recommendation is as an initial wire in association with self-ligating brackets when less friction levels are desired during the alignment and leveling phase.
